The Critical Literacy Group at Montgomery College is delighted to announce
that the long-awaited Crit Lit web page now exists in
cyberspace! Last updated March 9, 1999, it may be accessed at http://www.mc.cc.md.us/departments/critlit/
Keep in mind that some parts of the site -- particularly the Writing
Across the Curriculum hyperlink -- are still officially
"under construction," so you'll need to wear a virtual hard hat.
You'll find that the following links are "hot" right now:
~ The CRITICAL LITERACY "banner" opens onto "What Is Critical Literacy?"
(a definition of the term and brief history of the
program at MC).
~ The COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS page features a side bar with the following links: Core Readings, List of CC Courses, Town Meeting, Registering for the Online Discussion, and Obtaining a Free E-mail Address.
~ The INFORMATION LITERACY page currently features Brenda Braham's column from the last CLON.
The home page also provides links to the MCCCTR site, managed by Bill Peirce, and the web site of the Center for Critical Thinking at Sonoma.
