Prior to the beginning of the spring 2012 semester, on or about January 19, students registered for these courses will be able to access course information via Blackboard. If you have questions about the course prior to that, contact me via e-mail, at goldberj@pgcc.edu, or by telephone, at 301-322-0566.

You will find the course syllabus, attendance and grading policies, and other useful information on the course web site, located on Blackboard, the college's Distance Learning access point.

EGL 1320: Writing for Business is a composition II course (second-semester writing course). Its main focus is writing business-related documents - correspondence (memos, letters, emails) and reports. You will be provided various case scenarios and, using the content from the textbook, course lectures, and other possible supplemental materials, you will prepare appropriate documents - both in hard copy (printed on paper) and digital copies (e.g.., e-mail).

The main component of the course will be a collaborative (team-written) project and will include various related assignments and documents (proposal, progress report, and formal report). And yes, you will also, with your team, prepare a formal presentation, including an electronic portion using PowerPoint.

To access Blackboard, you will need to log in with your Owl Link user name and password.
