PSY 305

PSY 305 is the foundational course in psychology. It requires more time than most classes since you will be doing a LOT of writing and will have to spend a great deal of time learning how to write in APA style. It is not a class where you only have to read a chapter a week and answer a couple of questions. You will need to check into WT AT LEAST  EVERY OTHER DAY. Sometimes you will need to check in more frequently. You should plan on at least 15 hours per week of study time.  It is essential that you allot enough study time in order to be successful. If you are new to online or are not a strong student, it may take you more time. You will be working in groups – research is done in teams. Working on your own is not an option. Also note that this is an OL 1 section which means it is a bit shortened. That does NOT mean we do less work. We do exactly the same work.

Note that we cover at least 2 chapters in most weeks. In some weeks we will cover 3 chapters. You also are expected to read the entire APA Manual. Please be sure to read all of the information for online students at my webpage. (academic.pgcc.edu/~dfinley).

All work is due at SUNDAY NIGHT 11:59  p.m (unless otherwise indicated on the schedule). The next week's work will open on Mondays. I am not online on Sundays at all. Be sure to plan for questions before Sunday.

I have a built-in late work policy (see the syllabus). That policy covers ALL situations. Thus if you get sick or simply miss something, the policy will apply. I do not give extra extensions.  Do work EARLY in the week to avoid technical problems or other things that come up.

All Chapters refer to the Smith and Davis book. APA readings are in parentheses. NOTE THAT THIS SECTION HAS NO SPRING BREAK.
